Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Carlsbad residents have plenty of opportunities to explore without leaving their area. The primary shopping center in the area is The Forum. There you will find large national brands, such as Apple. Carlsbad Premium Outlets has 90 stores with luxury brands. The Village Faire, in the heart of Carlsbad Village, has 38 venues with a mix of shops and restaurants. Another restaurant residents of Carlsbad enjoy is Siam Queen Thai Bistro for their Thai food. The pad woon sen is a delectable noodle dish with onions, cabbage, carrots, and eggs.

Campfire has a warm and cozy atmosphere. Their dishes are inspired by the surrounding forests and community found around a campfire. Their brisket, from Snake River Farms, has a coffee rub and the octopus is made with smoked garlic.

Things to Do

The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch are an incredible sight when the Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers are blooming from March through May. Gorgeous, vibrant color takes over the 50-acre rolling field. They also have a greenhouse filled with beautiful orchids. Children enjoy picking blueberries in the blueberry patch, watching the birds in the aviary, and playing in the playground and sweet pea maze.

Children, and the young-at-heart, enjoy Legoland. The amusement park has more than 60 rides, roller coasters, a water park, and an aquarium. They celebrate the holidays with kids in mind, including a before-bedtime New Year countdown and celebration.

Community festivals in Carlsbad include a farmers’ market, holiday celebrations, and Art in the Village where 100 artists from all over the world showcase their work. Every Thursday night is Flicks at the Fountain where the community gathers on the green to watch a movie on the big screen.

The beaches, though, are the primary attraction in Carlsbad and there are plenty to choose from. Park in the village, grab a picnic to-go and walk down to the beach to enjoy the view.
